GENESIS SERIES, 1985–2014

This work was made in six sculptural actions over the course of 29 years, the same period as one solar revolution of the planet Saturn – the father of time. Objects made of noble materials, such as diamonds and gold, were introduced into living organisms, in formation, with the aim that they be absorbed. Between the action and the waiting – rhythmic elements of time – these objects persist and indicate the presence of life and of culture, through their manufacture. What was dead becomes a living sign in contact with death, and vice versa.

The first action is a momentary one, the creation of the jewel, through the formation of a pearl when a diamond is placed in an oyster. The others are sequential and carried out at five moments during this period.
